This project was built by
Denis Kleva
A distinctive Croatian inventor, entrepreneur and social visionary, best known for turning his innovations and creative energy towards reviving life on the island of Olib and making it easier.
After graduating from the Maritime School in Bakar and studying at the Faculty of Maritime Studies in Rijeka, he worked in real estate and finance until he founded Creative Power LLC, where he worked on implementing advanced multimedia solutions.
The key moment came in 2010, when life and family circumstances brought him to settle permanently on the remote Zadar island of Olib. Faced with the harsh island reality and monotony, Denis redefined his work as an innovator. Instead of purely commercial projects, he began creating practical solutions that use the island’s own space and materials.

Off-grid living
Self-sustaining eco pergola
Designed as an eco-friendly, self-sustaining pergola for sustainable “Robinson Crusoe” style tourism and off-grid outdoor living. Roof-mounted solar panels generate enough electricity to charge phones and laptops and to power a fan.

Kušini seagrass pillows
Unique pillows filled with dry leaves of Posidonia oceanica from the clearest sea around Olib. The invention connects tradition and ecology into an authentic, self-sustaining island souvenir that brings the scent of the sea home.

Community
SOL association
Denis founded the Sol association to “invent ways to bring the island back to life”. Today it brings people together on Olib’s beaches: silent-disco parties with wireless headphones and summer gatherings by the sea, open to islanders, visitors and Blue House guests alike.
The Blue House project
When the sun becomes your colleague
Why is Blue House innovative?
Blue House shares the Sol association’s goal: a living community on Olib all year round. The way there is to welcome people who can work from anywhere, and to give them every reason to come back.
A natural detox from city noise
Blue House is on Olib, only two hours by fast boat from the mainland yet light years away from the daily rush. With no mass tourism and no cars, the island creates a rare micro-environment where a team can focus completely.
The Company Summer House model
Instead of one-off, expensive team-buildings in anonymous hotels, Blue House offers a sustainable, year-round company base. It is a strong tool for keeping talent and building an authentic company culture.
Live like a local with a local
Blue House pairs a relaxed retro atmosphere with everything you need for remote work. The informal setting flattens hierarchies and sparks the kind of ideas that never come up in a classic meeting room.
