    There are no cars on Olib’s lanes. Locals walk, cycle or use small electric carts, so children can run and play freely.

    Unlike most of the rocky Croatian coast, Olib has long sandy bays with shallow, warm water, perfect for kayaks and paddleboards.

  • Dry-stone walls

    Since the 15th century islanders have stacked stones into walls that line the paths. Dry-stone walling is UNESCO heritage.

How to get to us

Blue House stands in Olib, the only village on the homonymous island. In 1900 the islanders bought the whole island from a Zadar nobleman, and today Olib is still a quiet, car-free place. Even though it is safely tucked away in the northern Zadar archipelago, it is better connected than you might expect. 3 major airports are 3 hours or less from Zadar harbour – Zadar, Split and Zagreb. From the city harbour the catamaran brings you to Olib in about 1–2 hours, and the car ferry sails from Gaženica port.
